Dr. Jacob Adserballe is a veterinarian currently living in Alberta, Canada. Originally from Denmark, Jacob has been an outdoor enthusiast since he was a kid, and has dedicated his life to the outdoors and his love of animals. He has guided guests from all over the world through the prairie provinces of Saksatchewan, Manitoba, and Alberta for the past 30 years, showing them the country's remarkable landscape and teaching people the value of nature and adventure. Jacob currently runs tours from a central camp (a 1/4 of land) that borders the Peace River and Dunvegan Provincial Park in Northern Alberta. Tours are done with his friends, family, and veterinary colleagues.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Trips are tailored for each client, and organized by Jacob, his staff, family, friends and veterinary colleagues. Many people travel to Peace River exclusively for the opportunity to tour with Peace River Adventures. As such, we always try to coordinate transportation to and from the airport to help guests get settled and prepare for their excursions. Our adventure packages can vary in length from one to multi-day trips covering a variety of terrain, difficult climbs, exposure to wildlife and other challenging obstacles depending on the objectives of the trip. The excursions are extremely physical, and guests are encouraged to show up in top physical condition.
The start of a multi-day expedition typically starts with an orientation and a full day of planning, checking lists, and getting packed to ensure everything is in order and the group is ready to go.
Day two starts early and is often a full day of travel. This can be done in a variety of ways (depending on the destination, season, etc.). Horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, and canoeing should be expected. The travel may last anywhere from 2-8 hours, and leaves most guests exhausted by nights end. It's here where we set up home base, coordinate the camp site, start a fire, cook amazing food, and spend the evening in company with one another, sharing stories from the day and nourishing our bodies for the trek that lies ahead.
The following days are largely dependant on group size and the duration they've booked for their excursion. Our guides will often split the groups up and take them on different day trips, usually returning to camp at nightfall for another feast and fire with the team.
Prices start at $8,000 - $10,000 depending on group size, excursion length, etc.
*We require guests to book a minimum of 3 months in advance to the proposed travel date and preferably, if possible, up to 12 months in advance.
